Seven Advanced Writing Techniques to Make Your Blog a Smashing Success [Visual Sketchnotes]

October 18, 2013 Erik Deckers

We’re told “write good content,” but does anyone actually tell us how to do it?

My “7 Advanced Writing Secrets” presentation at the MarketingProfs B2B Forum pulled advice from such notable literary figures as Hunter S. Thompson and Ernest Hemingway, and notable entertainment figures like Stephen Fry and Tom Waits, to explain what good content actually is—and how to write it.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but seven writing secrets are worth some doodles. MarketingProfs’ Veronica Jarski attended my presentation and created some wonderful doodles of my presentation, which you can see below. Just like musicians who get to see their music turned into art, it was a neat experience to see my words turned into their own art.

If you have more time, here is the presentation deck from my talk.
